Key Features of Professional Associate Membership1
04/01/2008

Being a member of the leading trade association for the banking and financial services community has many benefits, whatever the size of your organisation. These include:

Centralised Information

Through our members area you are able to access a wealth of information. As an associate member you can gain exclusive access to the members' only area of the BBA website.

This resource contains up-to-date information and guidance relevant to you and your organization. You will find BBA responses, briefing papers, research guidance and best practice information. Registration on the site is easy, automatic and immediate.

Industry Updates

Within the members area, you can also sign up for the email alert service which helps you keep on top of the updates that have been added to the site.

The BBA runs a number of Contact Groups covering a long list of topics. As an Associate, you are entitled to receive information via the Contact Groups on as many of these topics as you wish.

The BBA produces a bi-monthly newsletter that focuses on a few key topics on which the secretariat has been working on behalf of members. It also provides details of up and coming events, the BBA views in the News and a review of activities in Westminster.

Associates are invited to submit articles for the BBA Newsletter. The article can be on a subject of your choice, providing of course that it is of relevance to the members. Full credit is given to the author and firm, creating a nice opportunity to raise your firms' profile.

Associate Briefings

Associates are invited to the BBA to meet the Policy Directors who then provide an update on some of the key issues affecting the members today. They are informal affairs affording the opportunity to ask questions of the Policy Directors and to network.

BBA Events

The BBA organises and runs a significant number of events each year on a wide variety of topics. There is plenty of opportunity for Associates to speak at these events or appear as a panellist. The BBA Conference team, regularly sends out to Associates details of events that are in the planning stage. Upon receipt of this, Associates normally contact the BBA and ask to be considered for a speaking slot. BBA events are categorised into Briefings, Seminars and Conferences. Attendances vary from 50 to 250 depending on the nature of the event and the subject matter.

Firm Profile on BBA Website

All Associates are allocated a dedicated page on the BBA website. This page is for you to populate with information about your firm, your fields of expertise, logo, contact details, successful case studies, photographs anything you want to encourage BBA members to get in touch with your firm. The page also contains a link to your own website. The more you keep the site up-todate, the better the chance member firms will find you. Full details on how to make the most of your site is included in the Associates welcome pack.

Press Release Announcing your organisation has joined the BBA

When you first join the BBA, the Association issues a web-release detailing your firm and the fact that you are now a member of the BBA. This is done in conjunction with your press team. It's a very positive first step to creating awareness of your firm to members and other financial services firms alike.

Discounted Room Hire

Associates are able to hire meeting and conference rooms at Pinners Hall at heavily discounted rates. Pinners Hall provides an excellent venue whatever the occasion - conference, training workshop, board meeting, press launch, reception and the first class catering is all in-house. Full details on Pinners Hall are included in the welcome pack.

Discounted Event Fees

As an Associate Member, you are allowed discounted access to all BBA events, only paying the member rate. In addition Associates are given first refusal on all BBA sponsorship opportunities that arise. Attendance at BBA events, as a delegate or as a sponsor also presents good networking opportunities and allows you to get closer to the members.

Access to BBA Policy Directors

The BBA Policy Directors are only a phone call or email away. If you have a particular query concerning an issue that is affecting the financial services arena, then you can direct your enquiry to the team here at BBA who will be happy to help. Full details of the Policy Directors and the issues they manage are provided with the welcome pack.

BBA Speakers

Finally, if you do run your own in-house events, it may well be possible to have one of the BBA Policy Directors speak at the event, providing an update on a particular topic of interest. This is of course subject to diary commitments.
