Credit outstanding stood at £63.5 bn; £0.4bn higher than October but some £2.6 bn lower than a year earlier.
The proportion of balances bearing interest fell, by 0.2% to 66.6%.
Improved reporting for the proportion of balances bearing interest has resulted in a reduced level. Please note, however that this new level cannot be compared with data prior to August.
The number of transactions totalled 175 million in November, (8.1% more than in October and 8.0% more than in November 2008), with a value of £11.9 billion (3.1% more than in October and 4.2% more than in November 2008).
There were 60.7 million cards in issue at end-November, relating to 49.9 million accounts, 69.0% of which were active, ie had a balance outstanding.
