Bank of England
The Bank of England is the central bank of the UK and is located within the financial centre of the City of London.
It is not a commercial bank, although it still has some private customers. It has many roles. It prints all English bank notes, manages the government's stock register, publishes money and banking data, and provides settlement facilities for the payment systems.
The Bank of England Monetary Policy Committee sets interest rates to meet government inflation target.
