Industry Hot Card File

The Industry Hot Card File (IHCF) - was set up in 1993 to combat fraud on lost or stolen cards. Retailers subscribe to this electronic file containing information about cards reported missing.

When a card is swiped as part of a normal transaction, it is automatically checked against the file and an alert given is the card's details match those on file.
