The release of the consultation from the Ministry of Justice on implementing “adequate procedures” has been designed to assist businesses of all sizes to implement anti-bribery policies and procedures and ensure they are compliant with the new Bribery Act 2010.
The new legislation will mean significant changes to the way firms in financial services manage their systems and procedures, the regulation will require a thorough review of internal control frameworks and crucially, creates a strict liability offence for companies and individuals who negligently fail to prevent bribery within the business.
The BBA's anti-corruption compliance workshop, taking place at the end of the consultation period, will provide you with practical advice for assessing the risks faced by corruption. You will learn how to design an effective compliance programme in compliance with the Bribery Act 2010.

Peter has conducted a large number of corruption investigations, including providing advice in relation to possible criminal liability, civil litigation and civil recovery options and the investigatory tools available. In addition he has experience in managing and coordinating teams of lawyers conducting investigations in a number of jurisdictions, including the Far East and China and providing advice in relation to the employment issues, Human Rights Act issues and Data Protection Act issues which arise. In addition Peter regularly advises clients on designing, implementing and the content of anti-corruption compliance programmes.
