Balance - Issue 14
19/10/12
Rebuilding trust in the industry is my mission, says Anthony Browne in his first chief executive's foreword in the BBA's balance magazine.
The autumn issue of balance sets out how banks are making a practical difference in terms of restoring trust at grassroots level. Ben Hughes, chief executive of the Community Development Finance Association, writes about how banks are already working closely with many community development finance institutions so that small and medium-sized enterprises can access the finance they need to flourish and fulfil their potential.
We also hear from the chief executive of MyBnk, who illustrates how a grounding in financial and enterprise education can help improve the chances for young adults; the chief executive of Scottish Financial Enterprises explains how finance centres in Europe are coming together to address our shared problems; and the lobby correspondent Rob Gibson muses on who will take over from Sir Mervyn King at the Bank of England.
