Keeping customer information safe
The BBA is pleased to make available a help guide on "Keeping Customer Information Safe".
This has been prepared by members of the Data Protection Advisory Panel and we are grateful to the authors for their hard work and willingness to share their expertise.
This guidance has been written to help bank employees understand the issues faced by both banks and their customers when trying to identify each other.
Members of the public are increasingly concerned about the security of their information and it is hoped the guide will play a part in increasing awareness of the security measures to be taken to protect personal information.
We are very pleased that the Information Commissioner has written a foreword.
