A guide to the Lending Code for micro-enterprises
This guide gives you an introduction to the standards you should expect from banks, building societies and credit card providers who follow the Lending Code.
It gives information on lenders' key commitments to you - like making sure they lend money responsibly and deal quickly and sympathetically with things that go wrong. It also sets out how lenders will communicate with you, how they will assess whether you can afford to borrow, and where you can find free, independent advice. This guide applies to micro-enterprises. There is a separate leaflet for consumers here.
A PDF reference version will be available on the 1 April 2011. Printed copies and high-resolution artwork for licence-holders will be available from w/c 14 March 2011 in order to meet the 1 April 2011 implementation deadline. More information is available here.
